Justin Timberlake inducts Madonna into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

So since this is JockBoyMusic I thought I would start this post off with a little Justin Eye Candy I know this picture has been everywhere but I mean when you look this good it's worth another look right?

Justin_shirtless

If you didn't see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction of Madonna on TV tonight it was great (well at least the Justin and Madonna part that is...).  Justin gave the Queen of Pop the royal treatment with a speech that was laden with sexual innuendo.  Madonna of course was sure to get a few jabs back at Timberlake.  She had quite a lengthy speech but it was awesome to hear her recount her journey.  Madonna and Justin also talked about her forth coming album Hard Candy which is due out April 29th and her single "4 Minutes to Save the World" which she performs with Justin and should be hitting radio sometime at the end of this month.  Madonna did not perform tonight but Iggy Pop performed 2 of her hits "Burning Up" and "Ray of Light" oddly enough he performed without a shirt on to a room full of people that were eating... Just wrong.  On a final note since Justin got a full picture I thought I would give Madonna one also this is from tonight's ceremony and I have to say she looks great!

R.E.S.P.E.C.T. You get what you give.

Aretha_franklin Let me start this by saying, I love Aretha Franklin. She is regarded as the "queen of soul" for a reason. The woman can sing and make even the hardest person in the back of the room FEEL it. She evokes raw emotion that you didn't even know existed in you when she opens her mouth, and it is an amazing thing to witness and listen to.

However, her behavior over Beyonce's introduction of Tina Turner is ridiculous. It's common knowledge that Aretha is a diva, and divas are known for being...well...difficult. Franklin, 65, says she felt disrespected after Knowles referred to Turner as the Queen, while relegating Franklin to a brief name check in a long list of inspirational singers past, an act apparently tantamount to musical heresy. The introduction went like this:

"Sarah Vaughn, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan. Historical women who have performed on this very stage," Knowles said onstage. "When I was a little girl, I dreamed of being on this stage. But I knew I needed all the elements, like the beat of Donna Summer, the spirit of Mahalia Jackson, the jazz of Ella or Nancy. Lena Horne, Anita Baker, Diana Ross. Gladys, Janet and the beautiful melodies of Whitney. The legacy they have bestowed are simply irreplaceable. But there is one legend who has the essence of all of these things: the glamour, the soul, the passion, the strength, the talent. Ladies and gentleman...give it up for the Queen!" Que the 68 year old Tina Turner's entrance.

"I am not sure of whose toes I may have stepped on or whose ego I may have bruised between the Grammy writers and Beyoncé. However, I dismissed it as a cheap shot for controversy." a clearly offended Franklin said in an unprompted statement issued by her publicist.

Medium_beyonce_turner Beyonce' was introducing one of her idols. She was introducing Tina Turner a living legend, an icon. Tina Tuner is an AMAZING artist who is a queen in her own right.

Franklin, went on to perform in a gospel medley later in the evening, and shared an award with Mary J. Blige for Best Gospel Performance for the duet "Never Gonna Break My Faith". Aretha still took the time out to thank the Recording Academy, which earlier honored her as their 2008 MusiCares Person of the Year, and inform a certain superstar that there were no hard feelings for the slight.

"I thank the Grammys and the voting academy for my 20th Grammy and love to Beyoncé anyway."

Who cares that Beyonce' didn't say "The queen...but not better than Aretha Franklin..."? I know I don't, I know that most of the general population doesn't. I'd be willing to bet that with the exception of the camps of the people involved in this "controversy" (a poor one at that) and a few die hard fans here and there, that no one really cares. I know you're the queen of soul honey, and you know you're the queen of soul that's what matters.

Your toes are just as polished and perfect as ever, let's just live and let live shall we? R.E.S.P.E.C.T. you get what you give.

Amy Winehouse is a NO-GO for the Grammy's

AmywinehouseLONDON - Amy Winehouse will not attend this year's Grammy Awards because her request for a visa has been turned down by the U.S. Embassy, her representatives said Thursday. The Outside Organization, which counts the troubled retro-soul sensation among its clients, said in an e-mail that Winehouse — who shot to fame with the autobiographical single "Rehab" — was disappointed but had been treated well by embassy staff. "Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery," the Outside Organization said.

The statement didn't say why her application had been rejected. The U.S. Embassy in London declined to comment late Thursday. No one answered the phone at the Outside Organization.

The 24-year-old singer and her acclaimed Back to Black album are nominated in six categories at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Her potent blend of blues, jazz, pop and soul has won praise from critics and fans, but her chaotic personal life has increasingly upstaged her music. Concerned family members regularly beg Winehouse to seek help in letters splashed across the pages of British tabloid newspapers and magazines.

Since the album's U.S. release last year, she has canceled a slew of appearances amid reports of drug use. Her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is accused of attacking a pub landlord and later conspiring with the landlord to have him withdraw as a witness at the trial.

Last month, The Sun newspaper ran still images from a video that it claimed showed Winehouse inhaling fumes from a small pipe. The images were said to have been filmed during a party at her London home.

Shortly thereafter, Winehouse entered a London rehabilitation center, and has been questioned by police.

In October, Winehouse and Fielder-Civil, were arrested in Norway on charges of marijuana possession, for which they were fined. In November, Winehouse's Norwegian attorney, Ole Kvelstad, said her payment of the fine amounted to a guilty plea, which he said could have serious consequences if she sought to enter the U.S.
