Mariah's new video for her single: "I Stay In Love"
Thoughts?
I can't believe she would try the acting thing again after the travesty known as Glitter...but she did. The trailer actually looks, well, good. After seeing the trailer, do you think you want to see Mariah's new movie Tennessee?
Mariah Carey's new video for "I'll Be Loving You Long Time"
Why, in music video land of course! Here's her new video for bye-bye, and where she met her new hubby:
1. Madonna, Hard Candy, 280,000. "4 Minutes," her hit collaboration with Justin Timberlake, dips from #2 to #3 on Hot Digital Songs. Two other tracks from the album debut this week. "Give It 2 Me" opens at #21, "Beat Goes On," a collaboration with Kanye West, bows at #101.
2. Mariah Carey, E=MC2, 95,000. Carey slips to #2 after spending two weeks on top. "Touch My Body" slips from #8 to #11 on Hot Digital Songs. "Bye Bye" drops from #22 to #41.
3. Leona Lewis, Spirit, 84,000. Lewis slips to #3 after spending one week at #1 and two weeks at #2. In addition to the chart-topping "Bleeding Love," Lewis has a second entry on Hot Digital Songs. "Better In Time" dips from #80 to #87.
4. Lyfe Jennings, Lyfe Change, 80,000. This is the R&B star's second straight album to debut in the top five. The Phoenix opened at #2 in August 2006.
5. Def Leppard, Songs From The Sparkle Lounge, 55,000. This is the veteran hard rock band's first studio album to reach the top 10 since the chart-topping Adrenalize in 1992.
7. Portishead, Third, 53,000. This is the English duo's third studio album, and its first in nearly 11 years.
8. Mudcrutch, Mudcrutch, 38,000. This is the l-o-n-g-awaited debut album by the band that Tom Petty was in before he formed the Heartbreakers in the mid 1970s. This is Petty's 17th studio album.
9. Various Artists, Now That's What I Call Music Vol. 27, 31,000. This is one of only three albums from last week's top 10 to also appear in this week's top 10.
10. Tim McGraw, Greatest Hits-Limited Edition, 29,000. This two-CD combo pack is available only at Wal-Mart, at a bargain price of $11.88. It combines McGraw's two previously-released greatest hits sets. The first reached #4 in 2000. The second, Vol. 2: Reflected, hit #2 in 2006.
Madonna's new album, Hard Candy, is currently #8 on Amazon's top selling albums and it's not even out yet! How crazy is that? I checked the top 100 to see if any of the other divas we've been writing about of late were on the list, Mariah Carey's E=MC2
is at #54, and Janet's Discipline
...well...she's no where to be found. (And I'm not surprised why?) Something that was of interest to me was the number of Beatles records in the top 100. Perhaps American Idol choosing to use the Beatles' catalog on the show had something to do with that? Interesting thought...what are your thoughts?
Here's the top 10 for your review:
1. Celtic Thunder: Celtic Thunder
2. Across The Universe [Deluxe Edition] Original Movie Soundtrack
3. Jack Johnson: Sleep Through The Static
4. Robert Plant and Allison Krauss: Raising Sand
5. Once Original Movie Soundtrack
6. Sara Bareilles: Little Voice
7. Counting Crows: Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings
8. Madonna: Hard Candy
9. Amy Winehouse: Back to Black
10. Danity Kane: Welcome To The Dollhouse
The Amazon.com top 100 list is updated daily, so it will be interesting to see if Madonna can hit the #1 spot. (She went from #18 yesterday to #8 today!!) We'll keep you posted.
Mariah Carey performed what is set to be her new single, "Migrate", last night on SNL. Ummm...is it just me, or does something smell like crap? YOU discuss, and decide people!
As you know, Janet Jackson had to cancel her appearance on SNL due to a nasty bought with the flu. She was scheduled to appear on SNL on the 15th in support of her new album "Discipline" which debuted on the top of the charts. Janet was taken to Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Monday, Jackson was not admitted to the hospital, and her condition was said to be improving.
Exit Janet, enter Mariah. Mariah Carey is now scheduled to be the musical guest on SNL this weekend in support of her upcoming album, E=MC2, which is due for release on Apr. 15. Superbad star Jonah Hill will host. This will be Mimi's first appearance on the show in over 10 years.
I know you've been waiting, because I most certainly have. I freaking LOVE Mariah Carey...yes, I know she had a few rough years there where she, well, she sucked. Let us not forget Glitter or Charmbracelet
...what travesties. I began to wonder if Mariah would ever be the diva she once was...and stopped buying her records for quite some time.
Then something amazing happened...The Emancipation of Mimi happened. I practically ran to the store to buy a copy and listened to it over and over, just like I had to Daydream
and Butterfly
. She sounded and looked AMAZING, and the songs were fantastic. I was overwhelmed with joy!! Mariah, the Diva, one of my idols, she was BACK!
So, you can imagine my excitement that she is coming out with a new album ("E=MC2," and will release it April 15), and she's released her newest video for the single "Touch My Body". The track and the video are hot, her body is AMAZING, but here's hoping miss Mimi uses the money she makes from this record to hire a stylist though. Lord knows, after watching that video and seeing recent pics of her out and about, miss thing needs one! (Notice the Kool-Aids she's wearing in the video...oh-my-GAWD!) Either way...here's the video. Enjoy!
