"She's Like the Wind..." Patrick Swayze's rep confirms the big C

I know, he's not doing music these days or anything much anymore...but I grew up loving Patrick Swayze. (And for a 55 year old, he's still flipping hot by golly) This is a music news blog, I know this, but you can not tell me that Patrick Swayze did not affect music pop-culture circa 1987 with the release of "Dirty Dancing", and the subsequent "Dirty Dancing Soundtrack" on which Mr. Swayze contributed a little diddy called "She's Like The Wind".

I read a few days ago that Patrick Swayze was fighting Pancreatic Cancer, and since his reps had made no comment I simply thought it was a mean rumor. Wednesday, sadly, his rep confirmed that he is in fact fighting the big C...and I am heart sick to hear the news.

"Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is currently undergoing treatment," a rep for the actor said in a statement released on Wednesday. "Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family." Swayze's physician Dr. George Fisher said, "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic."

Well, I know I'm sending all the good ju-ju-vibes I can spare Patrick's way. Please all of you do the same! In honor of Mr. Swayze...the video for "She's Like The Wind"
