Lost Beatles Tape To Air On B.B.C. Radio
The B.B.C. will air a long lost Beatles interview featuring John Lennon and Paul McCartney talking about the day they met and their songwriting partnership.
The film sat forgotten in a garage in London for 44 YEARS. Now how do you NOT know you have something like that in your garage....seriously? Film fan Richard Jeffs is the one who finally dug it out and realized he had found pop culture gold.
Amazingly the audio portion of the tape was still usable for radio broadcast, but sadly the film is not in nearly as great of shape. The nine-minute interview was recorded at the Scottish Television studios in April 1964, right before Beatlemania took over the world. It will be broadcast for the first time on BBC Radio 4 on Tuesday and repeated later this week.
Right now, I wish I had satellite radio, just so I could get the BBC and hear a little bit of history from 2 of my idols. I'm sure it will be an amazing listen for any Beatles fan.
