Kylie Minogue on Today Show

Kylie Minogue was on The Today Show this morning to promote her new album "X". (The album is fabulous by the way.) Here's the clip from the show!

Duran Duran, You Make Me Sad

Ddsit9I read this article and it made me want to cry. Everyone who knows me, knows that I am in LOVE with Simon Le Bon and almost anything Duran Duran (but NOT "Pop Trash" and absolutely NOT "Astronaut" can we say "SUCKED!"?). Their last album Red Carpet Massacre was actually okay, so what's going on boys? Why ya' being so un-profesh during a performance? I wonder if the drama is going to be trans-Atlantic for their North American tour. Oh...sigh...

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Duran Duran's world tour got off to an awkward start in New Zealand on Wednesday as singer Simon Le Bon forgot the lyrics and bassist John Taylor stormed off stage, according to a published report.

"Duran Duran, fucking up in style," Le Bon, 49, told the crowd at the Vector Arena in the northern city of Auckland, according to the New Zealand Herald's review the next day.

Taylor, 47, abandoned his instrument and walked off stage, apparently in reaction to a segment in which the group's members donned matching satin suits and headsets to play a medley on keyboards and an electric drum set.

"I could not dance to that. These people came here to dance," Taylor said, after he returned to the stage, according to the Herald.

Le Bon forgot the words to "Hungry Like the Wolf," one of the band's biggest hits, the Herald reported.

Still, the paper said the crowd -- dominated by screaming women in their 30s -- did not seem to mind the snafus.

Duran Duran, rounded out by keyboardist Nick Rhodes, 45, and drummer Roger Taylor, 47, next heads to Australia for seven shows, beginning on Friday in Sydney.

After the Asia-Pacific leg ends, Duran Duran will begin a North American tour in Vancouver on April 29.

The band, which was formed 30 years ago, is promoting its latest album, "Red Carpet Massacre," which bombed in the United States and Britain last year.

Goodbye to Chikezie on American Idol.  I think it was well overdue!  Rounding out the bottom 3 were Syesha Mercado (who shouldn't have been in the bottom 3) and Jason Castro.  So I got 2 out of 3 right! Check in next week for our weekly installment!

Kylie Minogue "X" [Album Review]

L_86720e8c6cb31748a73934fbe1fe6b9e It's not often that I can pop a record in and listen to it all the way through without having to skip around throughout. I have to say that with the exception of only a couple of songs, Kylie Minogue's 10th record X has impressed me. ("X" is due out in the U.S. on April 1st) Kylie Minogue is a name synonymous with clubs and dancing, and this album certainly is not a let down in that department. Miss thing has most certainly still got "it".

Here's some of the highlights from Kylie Minogue's X:

Like A Drug with it's techno vibe and sensual lyrics is simply amazing.

In My Arms has a really fun 80's retro feel with it's synthesized hooks, and the big release/feel good chorus.

Speakerphone was by far my favorite track off of the album, it has this amazing HARP hook, amazing synthesized vocals, and a GREAT beat. It is so different from everything that's out right now, and it's different in all the right ways.

Stars was another great dance track that had such a wonderful dreamy quality to it. Superb.

Wow Kylie's lead single, all I can say is wow. I can see this being played in clubs nationwide and people running onto the dance floor to break it down. I typically only listen to a song once when I am trying to review a record and then go back to it later after I'm done...but I listened to "Wow" on repeat for about 20 minutes just because it made me move. Such a great single.

I suggest that if you like pop/dance music, you need to go to your local record store or hit up your preferred online music store and get this album on April 1st.

American Idol Top 10 - Wrap Up

Apple iTunes

So last night on American Idol the Top 10 performances were based on the year of their birth.  Interesting concept had all of them followed the rules some picked songs that were recorded before their birth year but had be re-recorded in the year they were born.  Oh well guess there is a work around for everything!  Last night was interesting several contestants that had done really bad last week actually made improvements like Michael Johns and Kristy Lee Cook.  Here is a break down of what they sang and who did good and who didn't unlike last week I am not going to detail their performance, lots of exciting things going on at JockBoyLocker.com so I have tons to do today!

Ramiele Malubay

Performed:  Heart - Alone

Thoughts:  Pitchy, Kinda Boring and I have heard people like the Divine Miss C rock out on this song so Ramiele will never compare.

Jason Castro

Performed: Sting - Fragile

Thoughts:  Kinda predictable, but in he does his thing with it.  I am not sure if I am in love with his voice it's a little whiny and I am not sure I could listen to a entire record by him.

Syesha Mercado

Performed: Stephanie Mills - If I Were Your Woman

Thoughts:  One of the better performances of the night and she is showing that she should be in this competition with this performance.

Chikezie

Performed: Luther Vandross - If Only for One Night

Thoughts:  This performance again wasn't good I think it's time for Chikezie to go home... I mean do we really want another boring performer like Ruben Studdard.

Brooke White

Performed: Police - Every Breath You Take

Thoughts:  Back on the piano she looked comfortable even with a stumble at the beginning of the song it was good.  I like Brooke she makes me think of great female artist like Carly Simon and Joni Mitchell.

Michael Johns

Performed: 2 Queen Songs - We Will Rock You & We Are The Champions

Thoughts:  Wow where did that come from after 2 weeks of less than standard performances he finally shined.  However I did hear him straining for a lot of those notes he still did a great job and probably one of the most memorable performances of the night.

Carly Smithson

Performed:  Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart

Thoughts:  I thought Carly did a good job with the song I mean it's a GREAT song and it fits her vocally.  The judges didn't seem to like it though however I do agree she should have left that last note alone.

David Archuleta

Performed:  John Farnham - You're the Voice

Thoughts:  This song has actually been done by lots of people like Heart, David Foster, John Berry, Geir Ronning and Alan Parsons just to name a few... I had never heard it before tonight.  Yes it was cheesy, Yes it was like something from a Disney Musical or Theme Park but was it sang well?  Not completely I want to hear something different from you David...if you are going to win at least make it interesting!

Kristy Lee Cook

Performed - Lee Greenwood - God Bless the U.S.A

Thoughts:  Probably one of the smartest moves in American Idol history.  Talk about song choice when your down she has been in the bottom every week since the Top 24 and I don't think she will be this week for the first time possibly!

David Cook

Performed - Michael Jackson - Billie Jean

Thoughts:  Ok I don't know about this the judges loved it.  I give it to him that he made it his own but Billie Jean is a CLASSIC and I personally think Michael Jackson's nose is rolling over in its grave right now.  What did you think?

Check out tonight's results show to see who goes home. Fox 9/8 c

Predictions for the bottom 3: Ramiele Malubay, Chikezie, Jason Castro

Don't Stop Fighting the Good Fight Against Sally Kern

I know it's been a couple of weeks now, and things have died down so far as the story about Sally Kern (the gay bashing Oklahoma State Legislator) is concerned. Things die down and people kind of forget what they were upset over and what they were fighting for. I'm sure her people are telling her "be strong, this will all blow over soon." and it's in the process of blowing over right this moment. Right now.

Make a difference people, fight the power. Keep writing her, keep sending her emails, keep calling and leaving her messages. Let her know that gays are not monsters, that gays are not "worse than terrorists" gays are not a "cancer" in this society. Tell her how you feel about what she's said and what she continues to say. I know I have continued emailing her each day, because I love and support the gay community. Please do not make this easy on her, do not simply "let this blow over". Make a difference. I've said it before and I'll say it again, DO SOMETHING WORTH SOMETHING.

Here's a link to her latest debacle: (A debate with a homosexual pastor)

Here's the original speech she gave about what she believes to be the atrocity which is homosexuality:

And now here's her contact info in case you forgot...do the right thing. Stand up and fight against injustice and prejudice.
