Amy Winehouse On House Arrest

No, not by the police...by her label. So...that means that this will probably be as useless as all her family's attempts at keeping Winehouse clean. Her label has her under watch in her home 24/7 and even has security outside her door to send away the skeezy.

"There is also a security guard stationed outside her house around the clock to vet any undesirables. From now on there'll be no more waifs and strays - or fans - coming into her place, wreaking havoc. Crucially, they don't want known drug dealers coming anywhere near her. Amy has to give them names of people expected. Anyone who turns up uninvited will be sent packing. It's for her own good."

Well here's hoping this does her some good, but frankly I doubt it will. Let her train wreck be a lesson for all you kiddies out there. DRUGS ARE BAD.

Mariah Carey's new video for "I'll Be Loving You Long Time"

Lost Beatles Tape To Air On B.B.C. Radio

The B.B.C. will air a long lost Beatles interview featuring John Lennon and Paul McCartney talking about the day they met and their songwriting partnership.

The film sat forgotten in a garage in London for 44 YEARS. Now how do you NOT know you have something like that in your garage....seriously? Film fan Richard Jeffs is the one who finally dug it out and realized he had found pop culture gold.

Amazingly the audio portion of the tape was still usable for radio broadcast, but sadly the film is not in nearly as great of shape.The nine-minute interview was recorded at the Scottish Television studios in April 1964, right before Beatlemania took over the world. It will be broadcast for the first time on BBC Radio 4 on Tuesday and repeated later this week.

Right now, I wish I had satellite radio, just so I could get the BBC and hear a little bit of history from 2 of my idols. I'm sure it will be an amazing listen for any Beatles fan.

 

Katy Perry On The View

Katy Perry is slated to be a guest on the View on July 28th. (Check for local ABC times) This should be a bit interesting. Hope those old girls on the view don't bore her to death...with the exception of Whoopi....WE LOVE WHOOPI. Whoopi could never bore us, never-ever.

Boy George's US Tour's OFF

Well it's official, the US is not changing it's mind about letting Boy George get his Visa. Boy George is postponing his US tour for a YEAR now. He released a statement saying:

“I was really hoping that the issue would be resolved and that some kind soul at the US Visa Office would realize that if the police in the UK placed no restrictions on my movements, that should have been good enough for them. I am very sorry that I will not see all my American fans this year, but I wish them a happy and healthy Fourth of July. I include the Visa Office in those good wishes and realize they are doing a very difficult job and I just got unlucky.”

What? No diva antics? No slinging stuff around and screaming like a girl? No? Good for you Boy George!

Boy George will continue with his South American tour in September and a 25-date tour across the UK in October of this year. The singer’s North American dates will be rescheduled for Winter 2009.

Amy Winehouse gave yet another disastrous performance this weekend, and aside from getting booed on stage she also PUNCHED a fan in the audience. Watch the beautiful tragicness ensue below. At least she re-checked into the hospital on Sunday...she knows she's a hot mess and in some need of SERIOUS help. Gotta love CRAZY!

Christopher Ciccone VS. Madonna Ciccone WTF!?

Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone is apparently releasing a "tell all" book about being the brother of one of the most famous women in the world. Madonna is not at all happy saying she feels "extremely sad and betrayed" by her brother.

According to a Madonna source: "Madonna has helped Christopher since day one of her career, she put him in a video, let him direct one of her tours, decorate her homes. She's given him millions of dollars." Madonna and Christopher were closer than she with any of her other siblings. Obviously not any longer, especially now, but for other reasons as well. "Christopher's drug and alcohol addiction is to blame, there came a point where his alcohol and drug abuse got out of control and she's had to cut him off. Madonna has offered to pay for rehab and doctors, but he just won't go. The last two years, his addiction has gotten really bad."

Maybe that's why he's penning this book...he needs more money to blow up his nose and fill his bottle. From what I've read about this so far, that would appear to be the case. It's also apparent that Madge is concerned that Christopher is planning to fabricate more than reality for his book, and she has a problem with someone not telling the truth about her.

We most certainly will not be buying this book. Selling out your family for some blow? That's beyond disgusting. We're team Madonna all the way.

Former Idol Says 'I Do'

Ruben Studdard, winner of the second season of American Idol, got hitched Satuday the 28th to Surata Zuri McCants. The duo had a simple but sweet 30 minute ceremony in a church located in a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. Best wishes to you both!

Ca-Rack That Whip!

80's New Wave nerds DEVO are cracking the legal whip on McDonald's. McDonald's allegedly used the group's likeness for one of their happy meal toys called "New Wave Nigel". The toy was made for their American Idol themed Happy Meals, and looked like DEVO in their video for Whip It.

The band member who came up with the iconic jump suited look is quoted as saying, "We're in the midst of suing them. They didn't ask us anything."

Don't McDonald's know you can't just go around stealing other people's ideas? Wonder if DEVO is gonna walk with some serious denero...

Sicko Plots To Abduct Tween Stars!

Holy crap! Rex Mettler, 42, of Ohio was arrested by the Lancaster Police Department, with the assistance of The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office this week. Why? Um, just felony stalking and making violent threats toward tween pop stars Aly and AJ.

Police say Mettler somehow obtained the sister’s personal e-mail and admitted to a plan to abduct, sexually assault and murder the girls when they come to Cincinnati later this year. Mettler will be arraigned today.

What a SICKO! Lock crazy's ass up and keep him there!

Thankfully, Aly and AJ are safe and sound.

Dropped Like A Hot Potato

Fantasia Barrino, winner of American Idol's 4th season, was dropped by her management team like a bad habit. Fantasia was represented by 19 Entertainment, the company owned by American Idol's creator Simon Fuller. She's still got her record contract, but with her missing performances and poor record sales we're counting down the days until she's dropped by her record company too. Looks like the American Idol curse has made another one bite the dust.

Jewel: Perfectly Clear [Album Review]

Jewel is the only "pop" (and I use that term very loosely) artist of late that I was actually very happy to hear was going to put out a country record. Anytime you jump that very distinctive anything but country to country line it's a huge career risk. Jewel knows any genre hopping can bite in you in the ass from experience, let us not forget her not so well received (but I thought enjoyable) "0304" dance album. So...an attempt at country, for her, took balls.

"Perfectly Clear" is no "Pieces Of You" or "This Way", but in compassion to the other records she has put out in the last decade, "Perfectly Clear" is far and away the direction she should be heading into. Her delicate high voice sounds right at home with a pretty country melody, while her husky lower register is amazing when paired with a steel guitar. Her folky indie style just transitioned beautifully into the country market, and I am sure she will be a hit with country radio.

A highlight of "Perfectly Clear" comes in a cover "2 Become 1" which was originally recorded for her dance album "0304". That was actually one of my favorite songs off of "0304" and I always wondered why she never released it as a single, now I can see why. The country version she did of the song is EVEN BETTER than the original. The steel guitars and acoustics add so much to the mood of the song, making it perfectly executed this time around.

Another track favorite of mine was "Loved By You" (A Cowboy Waltz) that sounded very old west as Jewel showed off both her high and low vocal register as she slid effortlessly through the chorus "I don't wanna be loved by anybody but you". She then closed the song with a beautiful yodeling harmony, the first yodeling she's ever recorded.

We've Been Hoping That This Was Not True...

But all signs point to TRUE. Madonna and Guy Richie have endured divorce rumors for an eternity now, and the rumor-mill began because the 2 are NEVER TOGETHER. They lead very separate lives as Guy currently lives in London and Madonna is living in New York City.

The Times of London, a very reputable newspaper, not a tabloid, is confirming the split. Madonna has indeed hired Sir Paul McCartney's divorce lawyer, Fiona Shackleton, to represent her in the divorce. They also say that Guy has hired an attorney as well, a lesser known Mayfair Firm, Forsters.

Madonna's spokes person has yet to confirm or deny the reports...and we're so hoping that there's a denial soon. Poor Madge, she's got the worst luck when it comes to love.
